Stained glass mosaics class set at Rehoboth Art League beginning Nov. 21

November 14, 2017

Mosaic is one of the oldest and most enduring art forms, dating back to 5000 BC, when mosaics were constructed out of colored pebbles. Today, mosaic artists work with cut ceramic and glass tiles. The Rehoboth Art League's Stained Glass Mosaics class will cater to those who want to learn how to use scrap stained-glass pieces to create a unique 12-by-16-inch glass-on-glass mosaic that is color diverse and cleverly designed. This is an advanced class for individuals who have already taken a mosaic or stained-glass class. Participants will learn to cut, grind, and place pieces of glass for their mosaic art. This class is offered from 6:15 to 8:45 p.m., Tuesdays, Nov. 21 to Dec. 12. The cost for this series of four classes is $145 for members and $180 for nonmembers. Tools, tiles and stained glass are provided.

Registration is required. To register, go to rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408, Ext. 112. The class will be held in the Chambers Studio at the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres.
