Summer’s End 5K finishes at Jimmy’s Grille in Dewey Beach

The Summer’s End 5K held Sept. 3 in Dewey Beach saw Kyle Brightbill, 42, of Philadelphia dominate a pack of 244 runners to win in 16:37.

Joey Andrisani in 18:42, Brandt Chi in 18:58, Trae Humphreys in 19:35 and Josh Houtkin in 19:43 completed the top 5 on the men’s leaderboard.

Natalie Trait, 36, from Landenberg, Pa., was the top woman to cross the finish line and fourth overall in the race with a time of 19:30. She was followed by Bethany Killmon in 19:48, Jordyn Kline in 20:16, Alise Reynolds in 20:19 and Tatyana Steis in 22:23.

Age-group winners were Madiella Keefer, 8, 27:54; Mia Steis, 12, 26:28; Sarah Greenberg, 15, 24:11; Bethany Killmon, 22, 19:48; Jordyn Kline, 28, 20:16; Adrianna Borgia, 30, 25:40; Natalie Trait, 36, 19:30; Tatyana Steis, 42, 22:23; Alise Reynolds, 46, 20:19; Mardiny Ung, 50, 22:44; Carole Rosasco, 58, 24:12; Joy Biser, 61, 27:52; Mary Andrisani, 65, 29:06; April Anderson, 72, 35:19; and Courtney Riordan, 80, 31:33.  

Age-group winners on the male side were Roman Steis, 11, 22:16 and his brother Aiden, 10, 25:30; Walter Schroeder, 15, 20:41; Chris Javens, 22, 21:08; Trae Humphreys, 27, 19:35; Joey Andrisani, 34, 18:42; Glenn Zimmerman, 35, 22:21; Kyle Brightbill, 42, 16:37; Chris Stanley, 48, 19:56; Brandt Chi, 52, 18:58; Mark Riley, 57, 22:22; Rick Poppleton, 64, 21:29; Doug Repetti, 66, 23:51; Gene King, 74, 28:14; and Paul Kiefer, 77, 40:05.

The next Races2Run event will be the 41st running of the Gary P. Lister 10-Miler and 5K, a race that used to be 13 miles and was simply known as “The Cork.”
