Summer art show to open at Nassau Valley Vineyards Aug. 2

Artists Anne Crown-Cyr and Christine Heyse to display work

Nassau Valley Vineyards will display the artwork of award-winning artists Anne Crown-Cyr and Christine Heyse. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the winery's gallery, 32165 Winery Way, Lewes.

Both artists travel and paint en plein air and in the studio. Crown-Cyr's art includes oils and watercolors; Heyse works in watercolor, oil, acrylic, and pen and ink. Both artists are also registered copyists at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., where they can paint from master works.

"We are excited to have our art shown at the winery and thank Peggy Raley-Ward for this opportunity," says Crown-Cyr.

Rehoboth Beach artist Anne Crown-Cyr is the founding member and former president of the Delaware Watercolor Society as well as a signature member of the Delaware Watercolor Society and Baltimore Watercolor Society. She also is a member of the Rehoboth Art League, the Art League of Virginia, the National Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society, and Philadelphia Watercolor Society. Heyse, a resident of Silver Spring, Md., is a signature member of Baltimore Watercolor Society, Delaware Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society. She is a nationally recognized watercolorist whose award-winning paintings are in collections all over the world. In 2010, Heyse spent a month in Dinan (Brittany), France as an artist-in-residence award recipient from Les Amis de la Grande Vigne. In 2015, she received a grant for an artist residency in Can Serrat (Barcelona), Spain for two weeks. In 2016, jurors for the American Watercolor Society selected her painting, "Eveready Diner," for the prestigious American Watercolor Society's 149th International Exhibition in New York City.
