Sussex councilman thanks Sea Witch organizers

November 3, 2023

We absolutely live in a wonderful community. I would like to thank the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce for hosting the Sea Witch Festival. Team Schaeffer was honored to participate in the parade with our good friends Rep. Jeff Hilovsky and the legendary Norman “Jay” Jones, Sussex County clerk of the peace.

Despite the turmoil in the world today, I am constantly reminded while traveling and participating in many wonderful events in our neighborhoods just how blessed we are to live on the coast. We truly reside in one of the most diverse, wonderful, vibrant and active communities in the county. It is amazing and heartening to see hundreds of various groups and organizations with many different interests come together to celebrate life, family and community. I am blessed that I am able to wake up every day and serve the citizens of Sussex County Council’s 3rd District.

Carol Everhart and her staff at the chamber, Mayor Stan Mills of Rehoboth Beach and his personnel and volunteers at the city, and our first responders showed us what community is. We are all fortunate to have them setting this example and reminding us daily how lucky we are to live in the most wonderful place on earth, Sussex County, Del.

Ms. Everhart and Mayor Mills, thank you for all that you do, and thank you for the Sea Witch Festival. You brought us all together again this year to celebrate our beautiful community. We are all appreciative.

Mark G. Schaeffer
Sussex County councilman
3rd District
