Sussex Gardeners plant dogwood trees for Earth Day

May 4, 2024

In observance of Earth Day, Sussex Gardeners donated and planted three dogwood trees on the grounds of Brandywine Living at Seaside Pointe.

Spearheading the effort was Joan Flaherty, Sussex Gardeners environmental chair, in cooperation with Joni Caperilli, Inspiritas coordinator for Brandywine Living.

This project also is in support of A Tree for Every Delawarean, part of the state’s plan to respond to climate change with a goal to plant a million trees that will naturally reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Sussex Gardeners is a member of National Garden Clubs Inc., Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs Inc. and the Delaware Federation of Garden Clubs. For more information about Sussex Gardeners, email sussexgardeners@gmail.com.
