January 8, 2017

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. recently donated more than $21,000 in the Rehoboth Beach area to help in the fight against breast cancer. In the spirit of the holidays and the season of giving, the 23rd annual Tanger PinkSTYLE Campaign funds were donated to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, a local organization offering statewide programs and services of education, outreach, and early detection and treatment of breast cancer. The mission of the coalition is to empower the community by raising awareness of breast health issues through outreach, education and support services, in order to facilitate the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

"We are proud to join forces with our valued shoppers and retailers across the U.S. and Canada to raise awareness and much-needed funds for breast cancer research and prevention," said Steven B. Tanger, president and chief executive officer of Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. "We empathize with every customer, retailer and employee who has been affected by this disease. We are fully committed to supporting these important organizations with the goal of finding a cure to a disease that has affected so many families."

Since 1994, Tanger Outlets locations across the country have raised more than $14 million to battle breast cancer, and planned to raise another $1 million in 2016. Throughout October, Tanger Outlets sold Pink Cards for $5 which provided customers with 25 percent off a single item in select Tanger stores, with unlimited use through October. Proceeds supported the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition locally. On the national level, the campaign also supported the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the highest-rated breast cancer organization in the U.S., according to Charity Watch.
