The Tides and Pumas win Delaware Shore titles

The Delaware Shore Field Hockey Association held its summer championship July 19 at Cape Henlopen’s Champions Stadium. When the rain and thunder subsided, the Elementary Division was won by the Tides in a 2-1 second-round shootout over the Guards, and the Senior Division was won by the Pumas over the Baffins 3-0.
Tides forwards Addison Wood and Leighton Swope each scored a goal for the winning team. Ellen Ramsy scored the goal for the Guards.
The Dunes and the Waves battled through 40 minutes of field hockey to end in a 0-0 tie to share third place in the division.
Reagan Ciabattoni got the game-winner for the Pumas at 8:32 of the first half in a tightly played match. Anna Stancofski scored at 14:45 of the second half to give the team some breathing room before Ciabattoni finished off the evening with her second goal at 9:40. Kayla Brady and Marlee Geppert provided stellar goalkeeping for both squads.
