True Madness!

March 22, 2018

This year's college basketball tournament is definitely living up to its nickname March Madness. For the first time ever, a number 16 seed defeated a number 1 seed! University of Maryland-Baltimore County beat the University of Virginia in one of the biggest upsets in sports history. What was also surprising with this win was the margin of victory wasn't even close. This just shows you anything is possible!

A lot of people, including me, picked UVA to win the entire tournament. Other surprising lossmlb
es were the University of Arizona and the University of North Carolina. I think Duke and Villanova are the two favorites to win the whole thing. 10 of the 16 teams have a shot at taking it all. I hope the games continue to have great finishes.

Spring training for Major League Baseball is about to come to a close. This is good because the games will finally start to count. I am excited to see how much progress the Phillies can make this season. The National League East Division is very top-heavy with the Washington Nationals on top. They are the clear favorite.

I think the Phillies will be battling with the New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves for second place this baseball season. This will certainly be an improvement of what the Phillies did the last two years. I am being very optimistic that the Phillies are only one or two seasons away from being back in the playoffs! That's to be expected when you are a diehard fan like me.

In football news, Carson Wentz is working his way back from his ACL injury and has been videoed passing the football as part of his rehabilitation. I hope he's not pushing himself too hard too quickly. The NFL draft is six weeks away but there is much chatter about what the Eagles will need to do to remain Super Bowl contenders in the upcoming season. My thoughts are that they need more running backs and defensive players.

And lastly, I sure hope this is the last of the snow! I look forward to complaining about how hot it is!
