Two Lewes women, 73 and 104, died following a two-car crash Dec. 10 on Minos Conaway Road north of Lewes.

The crash happened at 3:38 p.m. when a Subaru Outback traveling eastbound on Minos Conaway Road was approaching a sharp curve in the roadway and went into the westbound lane, said Sgt. All involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts, Sturgis said. The driver of the Subaru, a 75-year-old man, front passenger, Irma Koch, 104, and the rear passenger, Carol Greblunas, 73, all from Lewes, were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Greblunas died from her injuries while being treated at the hospital. Koch died Dec. 11, Sturgis said.

The driver of the Lexus, a 69-year-old man, and the front passenger, a 68-year-old woman, both from Lewes, were also transported to an area hospital for serious injuries.

The roadway was closed for about three and a half hours while the scene was being investigated and the roadway was cleared.
