Members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 173 are protesting the labor being used to build Atlantic Theater’s new addition The Cube, a 6,300-square-foot, 200-seat theater.

According to a flyer being handed out by the group, Atlantic Theaters is using workers who are paid substandard wages.

“By allowing contractors on their project that do not pay area wage and benefit standards, Atlantic Theaters is helping to destroy a decent way of life for hundreds of carpenters and their families that live and work in our communities,” reads the flyer.

Theater co-owner Tiffany Derrickson could not be reached for comment.
