Unitarian Universalists set online auction fundraiser May 14-21
The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will host its 2022 Fabulous Finds and Fun Times Online Auction starting at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 14, and continuing through 4 p.m., Saturday, May 21.
The public is invited to sign into the auction website at fundraiser.bid/uusd where they can bid, purchase and pay for items online.
Shoppers can pick up purchased items from 2 to 4 p.m., Monday, May 23, at the UUSD church, 30486 Lewes Georgetown Highway, Lewes, where volunteers will bring purchased items to their cars. Some larger items include delivery, and other pickup arrangements can be made if needed.
“We are delighted this year to feature the beautiful original watercolor painting, ‘Early Morning Beach Walk’ by well-known local artist Kathleen Fitzgerald. Her painting captures the beauty and serenity of Southern Delaware. This painting would be beautiful in someone’s coastal home or living space,” said Linda Marsden, auction coordinator. “Bidding online is simple and fun with our user-friendly auction software. Shoppers can browse through our extensive auction catalog and click the picture of an item to see an enlargement.”
“I am a lifelong artist, and beach life has inspired many of my pieces over the years. I have enjoyed many peaceful walks on our beautiful beaches here. This watercolor evokes the freedom, beauty and serenity of the outdoors,” said Fitzgerald.
Auction items include additional artwork, such as beautiful hand-painted Ukrainian eggs, jewelry, coastal and Southwestern décor items, and items unique to the area beach lifestyle, such as shellfish tools and a wetsuit. The auction also includes gift cards from local restaurants and a variety of handcrafted items.
Shoppers can also purchase items from UUSD’s unique boutique offering many preowned family treasures such as include vintage jewelry, pottery, sculpture and much more.
