A tractor fire on Route 1 near Spring Lake Road Dec. 8 delayed traffic traveling northbound.
Firefighters from Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co. responded to the scene at 11:19 a.m. and found a tractor with its engine on fire, said Warren Jones, spokesman for the fire company.
The tractor was on the northbound shoulder of Route 1 between Rehoboth and Dewey and caused a delay for northbound traffic. Jones said the road was closed for about 20 minutes while firefighters put out the fire. The roadway is now open.
