Vote for Ledogar, Sussex County Council District 3

September 23, 2016

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, residents of Sussex County District 3 have the opportunity to elect a new representative on the Sussex County Council. It is my hope that you will join with me and vote for Leslie Ledogar, the Democratic candidate.
A nine-year resident in Sussex County, Leslie is not a politician, but rather a public servant, who sees the county council as a place where she can make a real difference right now. Leslie can balance legitimate environmental concerns with economic realities. She studied biology at UNC, Greensboro. Her lifelong interest in the environment led to a graduate degree in forestry and eight years as a forester consultant.

Leslie graduated cum laude from Temple Law School, worked in private practice, and later for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. There she collaborated with scientists, engineers, policy makers and the public to shape regulations which strike that balance. She is also a trained mediator, one who spent many years working with all sides on complex environmental issues and projects.

While she has a strong conservation ethic that involves preserving those areas which are the most precious for the good of both humans and the natural environment, she appreciates and understands business interests, including the economic benefits of investment and growth. In short, she has a balanced approach. Her background makes her the perfect addition to a council which will be developing a new comprehensive plan for 2018. This document will shape the future of Sussex County.

We need a representative on the council who has the ability to clarify the issues and find solutions that serve us all. Leslie Ledogar is the perfect candidate – vote for Leslie Tuesday, Nov. 8.
