September 28, 2023

The Delaware White-line Woodcut Guild will host a reception for Making the Cut, the collective’s inaugural art show, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the lobby of the Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.

The public is invited to attend the free reception to learn about the uniquely American art form with historic ties to the Rehoboth Art League. The artists will be present to discuss their images.

Guild members displaying their art include Anne Barney, Michele Bartley, Lisa Bayne, Sharon Crampton, Bob Cumming, Deborah Dircks, Fred Dylla, Mark Harris, Mary Holland, Arlene Matzkin, Don Matzkin, Lindley McGrew, Lorraine Quinn, Leslie Snowdon-Jones and Lori Swift.

The Delaware White-line Woodcut Guild was formed four years ago and meets weekly at the library to share art and techniques, and to create woodblock prints. Throughout the year, guild founder Fred Dylla offers introductory white-line woodcut workshops in Lewes and other locations, as well as advanced workshops for guild members to enhance their knowledge and skills.

The exhibit will remain on display through Tuesday, Oct. 31, in the lobby of the Lewes Public Library.
