William G. Parker Jr., Air Force veteran

William G. Parker Jr., 73, of Harrington, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Bill, Dad, Poppy, or “Mr. Bill,” as all knew him, was born son of the late William G. Parker Sr. and June Adams Parker Nov. 25, 1950, and grew up in Northfield, N.J. He was an Air Force veteran, having served as a Morse systems operator. During his professional career, he worked for 25 years as a senior claims adjustor for Atlantic Electric.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lori; his son, AJ and wife Jeanine; daughter, Dawn and husband Randy; and was treasured and loved deeply by his five grandchildren, Lily, Brianna, Randolph, Sophia, and Gabbie.

Bill loved to coach his son, AJ, in hockey and daughter, Dawn, in softball as they were growing up. One of his favorite memories was taking his family to the Brigantine Wildlife Refuge in New Jersey. His many hobbies included playing his guitar, singing, golf, ping-pong, hockey, biking, and vacationing in the Outer Banks, N.C. He was a good and kindhearted man who always extended many acts of kindness and love to those around him. He will always be in our hearts and on our minds.

A viewing will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 23, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. 

Burial will be private later at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.

The family has requested for friends and family to wear cheerful colors.
