Worcester Prep’s Sophie Bandorick to play lacrosse at ECU

November 19, 2017

Worcester Preparatory School senior Sophie Bandorick of Berlin, Md., signed her National Letter of Intent to play Division I women’s lacrosse at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.

Sophie was honored in a ceremony at school surrounded by her family, coaches and school administrators. Bandorick is a member of the National Honor Society and is a two-time ESIAC All-Conference selection for lacrosse. A starting goalie since her freshman year, her team has won two ESIAC championships.

WPS Director of Athletics Matt McGinnis said: “Student-athletes like Sophie are what makes our girls’ lacrosse program as well as Worcester Preparatory School so special. She has dedicated herself to becoming the very best goalie she can be while leading her teammates by example. She has helped create a culture of success these past few years at WPS, and I know moving on to Division I lacrosse she has the skills and the commitment to be the best goalie for East Carolina.”
