December 9, 2021

World AIDS Day 2021: A Service of Remembrance and Hope was observed Dec. 1 at the Metropolitan Community Church on Plantation Road near Rehoboth. Almost 40 people were in attendance and more attended virtually as the service was livestreamed on the CAMP Rehoboth Facebook page.

The theme for the 2021 observance was Ending the HIV Epidemic: Equitable Access, Everyone’s Voice. Names of people who have died of AIDS were scrolled on a screen during the service.

“CAMP Rehoboth is proud to join forces with many local organizations and communities of faith to help bring this important and annual event to Rehoboth Beach for those in and around Sussex County,” said David Mariner, executive director of CAMP Rehoboth.

World AIDS Day was first observed in 1988.
