Wreaths Across America Day to honor area veterans Dec. 13

National Wreaths Across America Day is set for Saturday, Dec. 13. Local organizers will place wreaths honoring the lives of veterans who are buried at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.

They are asking families of veterans, veterans organizations, civic organizations, high school and college clubs and organizations, and for private donations to help them place wreaths on the veterans’ graves.

The cost per wreath is $15. Last year, over 400 wreaths were laid at the cemetery. The Wreaths Across America ceremony will begin at the cemetery at noon, Dec. 13, after all the wreaths have been placed. The ceremony will include guest speakers, military honors, wreath presentations from all branches of the service, and more. The public is invited to attend.
