Young adult author event at Browseabout June 12

June 7, 2018

Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach will host an event featuring young adult authors Morgan Matson and Siobhan Vivian in conversation at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 12. They will be discussing their new books and taking questions from the audience. Free ice cream will be provided by The Ice Cream Store in Rehoboth.

Matson's new book, “Save the Date,” can be described as “Father of the Bride” meets “Sixteen Candles.” Charlie's older sister is getting married this weekend at their family home, and she’s focused on making the weekend perfect. Instead, it’s shaping up to be an absolute disaster. Over the course of three ridiculously chaotic days, Charlie will learn more than she ever expected about the family she thought she knew. And she'll realize that sometimes, trying to keep everything like it was in the past means missing out on the future.

Vivian's “Stay Sweet” is a bold, sweet summer read about first love, feminism and ice cream. Summer in Sand Lake isn't complete without a trip to the local ice cream stand, founded in 1944 by Molly Mead. Since then, the stand has been owned and managed exclusively by local girls. Amelia and her best friend Cate have worked at the stand every summer for the past three years, and Amelia is in charge this summer. When Molly passes away, Amelia isn't sure that stand can go on. That is, until Molly's grandnephew Grady arrives and asks Amelia to help continue the business.
