‘Salted Earth’ documentary screening set April 17

April 10, 2024

The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays will host its second annual green screen film night at 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, at Signatures Bayside in Selbyville.

Hosted in partnership with the Bayside Institute, the event will feature a buffet dinner and a screening of the environmental documentary “Salted Earth,” followed by an engaging panel discussion with environmental experts and center staff. Dinner will be prepared by Signatures at Bayside, offering a variety of options. Vegetarian and vegan plates are available upon reservation.

Released in 2023, "Salted Earth" delves into the urgent climate threats facing the Mid-Atlantic coastal region, including sea level rise and the resulting encroaching saltwater that threatens the local environment, economy and way of life. Expert panelists include Stephanie Stotts, PhD, associate professor of forest ecology at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore; Jon Cox, MFA, associate professor of art, University of Delaware; and Dannielle Pratt, PhD candidate in the UD Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Tickets are $50. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to inlandbays.org. The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays is a nonprofit organization established in 1994 and one of 28 National Estuary Programs. With its many partners, the center works to preserve, protect and restore Delaware’s Inland Bays and their watershed.
