Summer League Week 3

Elementary Division

The Waves opened the week with a 7-0 win over the Dunes behind goals by Vivian Bolden (4) and Emerson Allen (3). The other game in the division was a 7-0 win by the Guards over the Tides. Tenley Hazzard (2), Brielle DiStefano, Ellis Hay (3) and Willow McPike did the scoring for the Guards.

On Wednesday evening the Guards continued their assault on the goal cage with a 10-0 win over the Waves. Tenley Hazzard had the big scoring outburst with 5. Brielle DiStefano (2), Ellis Hay, Bryn DiStefano and Willow McPike had the remaining goals. In the remaining Wednesday evening game, the Tides eked out a win over the Dunes by a score of 3-1. Mazie McCord and Evan Chubb (2) had the goals for the Tides while Ginny Keys had the solo goal for the Dunes.

Senior Division

The week’s play opened with a closely played game between the Artics and the Corals. Lacy Bayley scored near the end of the 1st quarter to give the lead to the Artics. A scoreless 2nd quarter followed before Hadley Lewicki scored at 8:01 of the 3rd quarter to tie the game but Abby Kane countered with the winning goal at 2:07, also in the 3rd quarter. The game ended at 2-1 for the Artics.

The second game of the evening was a defensive battle between the Seahawks and the Pumas with outstanding goalkeeping by Myla Smith and Eve Sekscinski. Neither team was able to push the ball over the goal line and the result was a 0-0 score. In the third game of the night, the Baffins took control early and cruised to a 6-1 win over the Bengals. Lily Ashby (3), Emma Lehman, Rilyn Lehman, and Emily Stafford had the goals for the Baffins while Rylie Cordrey had the only goal for the Bengals.

On Wednesday night the Artics continued their winning ways with a 3-1 win over the Pumas. Hailey Moore, Lacy Bayley and Ally Miller did the scoring for the Artics while Brynn Bowen had the goal for the Pumas. The second game of the night saw the Corals go out to a 2-0 lead at half behind goals by Alison Swift and Hadley Lewicki. The Bengals battled back with a pair of 3rd quarter goals by Catherine Peranteau and Avery Congleton to tie the game entering the final quarter. Sommer Dorman put the Corals back into the lead with her goal at 2:38 but Congleton scored on a last second breakaway top earn the tie for the Bengals. The final game of the week ended in a 4-2 win by the Baffins over the Seahawks. Emma Westbrook (2), Katelyn Stafford, and Emily Stafford had the goals for the Baffins while Riley Patro and Stella Stone did the scoring for the Seahawks.
