Healthy Heart Pizza

When grandchildren visit, we always make a pilgrimage to Nicola Pizza in Rehoboth Beach. What's a Plant-Based Grandma to eat? HEALTHY HEART PIZZA, of course, right off the menu--fat free dough and sauce, no cheese, mushroom, sweet pepper, onions and spinach!
If your local pizzeria doesn't offer a plant-based option, just ask for no cheese and more veggies. Why NO CHEESE? Because cheese delivers with each bite all the health and environmental burdens of animal agriculture along with the high fat, antibiotics and hormones that are making us fat and sick. According to T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D., author of THE CHINA STUDY, "casein which makes up 87% of cow's milk protein, is the most significant carcinogen we consume."
When this former meat and cheese loving granddaughter of a Pennsylvania dairy farmer learned about the health and environmental impact of meat and dairy products, I knew I had some big changes to make. Now 40 lbs lighter and 5 years healthier, I still enjoy pizza, just make it the HEALTHY HEART variety!
