Amandeline Gallery will display new original oils by plein air artist Elaine Hahn. Hahn paints her landscapes and seascapes in a traditional style while capturing vivid color and texture.
An artist for more than 40 years, Hahn’s award-winning work has been exhibited all over the country and has been featured in many publications including Artist’s Magazine, Art Business News and the book “Best of America: Watercolor.”
She began her art career primarily as a watercolorist, focusing on landscapes and still lifes, but has since transitioned into working with oils.
“After painting for a lifetime, specializing in studio-rendered watercolors, the change to oil painting has been very stimulating and rewarding,” says Hahn.
“Plein air paintings represent a collaboration between the artist and nature. Being forced to see light and color before the sun changes is wonderfully challenging. It allows me to share the beauty and simplicity of the scene and capture a sense of being there.”
A reception for this show will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, May 8, in conjunction with the Mosaic Second Saturday Art Walk, and the Arts Festival in downtown Rehoboth Beach. Light refreshments will be served.
