- Private group -
September 11, 2012

It will be an afternoon of dog-gone good fun for individuals, families and canines at Rehoboth Beach on Saturday, October 6 from 10 AM – 2 PM at the second annual “Bark on the Boards”, a dog walk on the Rehoboth boardwalk, presented by Veterinary Specialty Center of Delaware.  The event will benefit the Delaware SPCA and fund its work with and care of abused, neglected and homeless animals and efforts to reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs.

Registration will begin at 10:00 am in Lake Gerar Park and the walk will begin at 11:00 am at the North end of the Boardwalk.  We are excited to have Delaware SPCA Alumnus, Mr. Beefy, and members of the US Coast Guard Station at Indian River Inlet who adopted him, to serve as our Grand Marshals this year. Radio personalities from Eagle 97.7 and Cool 101.3 will also be on hand to provide entertainment. Other activities include: dog contests, including a bikini contest, a doggie kissing booth, games, refreshments, kids’ activities, and more.

Advance registration is $20 for adults (before October 4) and $25 the day of the event. Children ages 6-16, accompanied by an adult, are $5. Children ages 5 and under are free.  Walkers can pre-register online at www.delspca.org.  Even if you can't make it to the dog walk, you can be a virtual walker in the event. Participate from anywhere, raise money and compete for fundraising prizes!
