Chipotle opens in Tanger Outlets Seaside

Mexican casual take-out draws interest, shoppers.
October 2, 2012

Tanger Outlets Seaside just got a little spicier with the newest casual dining option to park in their lot.

Less than one full week after Chipotle Mexican Grill opened in mid-September, the take-out was already drawing hungry shoppers and students stopping by after school to try out the newest take-out in the Cape Region.

The seaside outlets restaurant marks the third Delaware location for the Colorado-based business that prides itself on (mostly) naturally raised beef, pork and chicken free of antibiotics and steroids.

With a line of condiments and toppings to select after placing an initial order for a burrito, burrito bowl, taco or create-your-own salad and featuring nutritional information on the menu about each of the options, getting out of Chipotle with a balanced budget, and diet, is not only do-able, it is encouraged.

Cape Henlopen High School sophomore Meghan Bennett said she enjoyed her first visit to Chipotle to grab some dinner with the rest of her squad before she went to cheer at the football game against Laurel.

“I like it; my food was good,” Bennett said of the steak burrito she ordered. “It was really good, but it was spicy. This is a good location because when you are shopping and you are hungry you can get food. It’s pretty convenient.”

With no less than four parking spaces reserved for take-out orders that arrive via phone, fax or mobile ordering app, in addition to the restaurant’s create-your-own line, the Mexican grill makes it pretty convenient to be in-and-out.
