VIA thanks Chicken Plunge participants

October 19, 2012

The Village Improvement Association sincerely thanks everyone who was involved in the first Chicken Plunge and Beach Party held Sept. 9. We especially appreciate the generosity of our many sponsors and the support of Rehoboth Main Street and the local business community in downtown Rehoboth Beach. The proceeds of the Chicken Plunge and Beach Party event will benefit the Rehoboth Beach Patrol, and the renovation of the VIA Clubhouse.

In addition to the sponsors' support of the Chicken Plunge and Beach Party, 39 Downtown Rehoboth Beach businesses participated in a Scrambled Egg Coupon event in which over 6,000 plastic eggs containing coupons were given away by the participating businesses. Fifteen restaurants also offered Chicken Plunge Specials throughout the weekend of the event.

We gratefully thank the Plungers and those who pledged so generously to support them.

Plunger prize winners included: Oldest Plunger Amie Sloan, Highest Pledger Plunger Phil Suchanek, Youngest Plunger Claire Lopez, age 4, and Runner up Lebby Becker, age 6
