Vegetarian Thanksgiving a celebration

November 9, 2012

Increasingly people are choosing to celebrate Thanksgiving with a focus on the seasonal vegetables instead of the meat.  A Nov. 1 article in The Washington Post described this trend, noting the holiday began as a celebration of the harvest. "Vegetarians have long known a Thanksgiving secret the rest of us are reluctant to admit - it’s all about the side dishes."

Since the stuffing and sides are really the stars of the show, it's easy for vegetarian dishes to shine. And with today's meat-free turkey products such as Tofurky brand's Holiday Roast with Gravy, everyone can enjoy all the familiar flavors of the holiday without the cruelty.  Vegetarian feasts celebrate the true spirit of giving thanks.
