Gallery One presents Small Works exhibit Nov. 16 to Dec. 31

November 16, 2012

For the upcoming Small Works show, the 16 artists of Gallery One have produced works in a smaller size. Dale Sheldon’s painting, “Horseshoe Crab,” was painted while he was sitting on the beach. Artist Rina Thaler’s “Western Wall" was inspired by her recent travel to Israel. Lesley McCaskill used the smaller size to explore thicker paint applications in her series "Delaware Chickens." The garden and David Austin roses were the inspiration for a series of paintings by McCaskill, while abstract artist Peggy Warfield explored the concept of numbers in her latest series, “Brought to you by.”

The Small Works exhibition opens Friday, Nov.16, and runs through Monday, Dec. 31. The annual Open House on Thanksgiving weekend will herald the holiday season. The popular Artisan Room features textiles, handblown glass, pottery, glass jewelry and wood pieces by local artists.

Gallery One, at 32 Atlantic Ave. in Ocean View, is open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Go to www.galleryonede.com for details about art classes and more information about the gallery.
