Alisha Broughton wins Stevie Award for Women in Business

Alisha Broughton of Unlimited Expectations Consulting has been named Best Mentor or the Year: Motivational Speaker, Life Coach and Business Coach at the Ninth Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business held Nov. 9 in New York City.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs and executives, and the organizations they run. All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations - public and private, for-profit and nonprofit, large and small. The 2012 awards received entries from 17 nations and territories.

More than 1,200 nominations in a wide range of categories were submitted this year, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Women Helping Women and Communications Campaign of the Year, among others.

Brougton's company, Unlimited Expectations Training and Consulting was cited for its volunteer work in mentoring individuals in business, youth and organizations.

Broughton attended Delaware Technical & Community College, where she earned an associate’s degree in early childhood education in 1985. Later she attended Delaware State University, where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in journalism/English. In 2000, she earned her master’s degree in special education from Wilmington University.

She is currently pursuing her PhD in organizational leadership at Walden University and plans to earn her second PhD in biblical studies, Christian education and counseling through Friends International Bible College.

Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 200 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process.
