Sussex Dance Academy to perform "The Nutcracker" Nov. 30-Dec. 2

Sussex Dance Academy and its youth ballet company, Sussex Ballet, will present its 9th annual production of the holiday classic “The Nutcracker” at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, and at 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2, at Cape Henlopen High School’s theater. The cast of 65 children and seven adults includes Cape Region dancers from Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Milton, and also students from Milford, Ocean View, Fenwick Island, Georgetown, Millsboro and Greenwood.

The ballet is under the artistic direction of Kate Downes Walker. Cameron James of Millsboro and Emily Lingo of Lewes will share the role of Clara. The guest artist is Justin Estelle from First State Ballet Theatre in Wilmington. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for seniors and children and are available at the door or by calling 302-645-7855.
