Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council donates to Home of the Brave

November 23, 2012

The Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council No. 7297 held its first golf fundraiser Oct. 10 at The Rookery South golf course and targeted Home of the Brave, a home for United States veterans located in Milford, as its  beneficiary.

The event, a great success and the culmination of months of preparation, drew support from all who participated, including the parishioners of St. Edmond Parish, and local and visiting golfers, The Rookery, local restaurants and merchants, state sponsors and area Knights of Columbus members.

On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, the Star of the Sea Council presented a check for $8,000, proceeds from the event, to the Home of the Brave facility.

At the end of the day, the Knights of Columbus thanked veterans for their service to the country and wished them continued success on their journey. They also thanked Linda Boone, Mark Corbishly and the veterans for sharing their stories and future plans.

The Golf Outing Committee consisted of Dennis Huss, Joe Polinski, Mike Boswell, Michael Crescenzo, Rich Duffy, Jim Horn, Randy Smith and Joe Torres.
