Milton elementary students collect 1,000 pounds of food for holiday drive

December 30, 2012

Milton residents Luke Arnold-Decyk, left, and Kayla Kline are shown holding invitations for neighbors to contribute to Milton Elementary's holiday food drive. The  two collected collected over 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food items from generous neighbors and friends in Shipbuilders Village in Milton. The items collected by the school were donated to the annual Caroling on the Circle event in Georgetown, which is held each year to help feed hungry Sussex County families.

Luke and Kayla's class did not win the pizza party for the school's top food collectors; that prize went to Mr. Holm's third grade students.  However, Luke and Kayla, along with others at  Milton Elementary School, learned a life lesson in the spirit of giving.
