Sussex Republican women donate dictionaries to Milton school

December 12, 2012

The Sussex County Republican Women’s Club presented 120 English and Spanish/English dictionaries to the third grade students at H.O. Brittingham Elementary School in Milton. The Dictionary Project is one of several charitable projects embraced by the members of SCRWC.

Dr. Christy Graves, principal at H.O. Brittingham, escorted Mary Lane, first vice president; Donna Repass, Dictionary Project chair; and Sandi Minard, Cape Henlopen school board member, to each of the third grade classrooms, introducing them to the students and the teachers. “We love this project because this is a gift to each student, something for them to learn from and use for years to come,” noted Lane. The dictionaries were presented Nov. 15.

The goal of the Dictionary Project is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary. Individuals and/or organizations can participate by contacting www.dictionaryproject.org or calling 843-856-2706. The Dictionary Project is a 501c3 nonprofit association registered in all 50 states, and all contributions are tax deductible.
