December 13, 2012
The Kent County SPCA has set a goal of 2013 by 2013!
That is, 2,013 adoptions for the year by the time the calendars switch over to 2013. Currently (as of end of the day 12/12/12) there have 2,001 animals adopted through the main shelter in Camden, DE and our partnership with PetSmart in Dover! We have only 12 more adoptions to do by December 31 and we will have facilitated the re-homing of 2013 stray, abandoned and relinquished pets with new, loving, fur-ever families.
We can not reach this goal without public support! Please consider adopting before purchasing your pets elsewhere. Currently we have a lot of cats and dogs, but also rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs and horses! There are several special adoption events coming up:
12/14/12 - Millville Pet Stop from 10am-2pm we will be featuring our 'exotic' pets (bunnies, ferrets, guinea pigs, etc)
12/15/12 - Talbots in Dover from 11am-2pm featuring small dogs
12/22/12 - Matt Slap Subaru in Newark from Noon-2pm as part of the Subara Share the Love Event with dogs and cats
Also, starting today we are having the 12 Days of Cat-mas, where a long-time feline resident is featured each day with a $12 adoption special on that cat for the entire day! All animals adopted from the Kent County SPCA have had all age appropriate vaccines, have been microchipped, spayed or neutered and had appropriate testing. The animal of the day can be found on the shelter's webpage at www.kcspca.org or on the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/KentCountySPCA.
The Kent County SPCA is open to the public at the main shelter in Camden from 10:30am-6pm Monday through Friday, 10:30am-4pm on Saturday and closed on Sunday.
The satellite adoption center at PetSmart in Dover is open every day of the week during normal store hours.
