Eagle Scout Michael Wright completes project at St. Edmond Parish in Rehoboth

December 23, 2012

Michael Wright, the son of St. Edmond parishioners, recently completed a special Eagle Scout project at St. Edmond Parish in Rehoboth Beach. Wright, a student at Cape Henlopen High School and member of Boy Scout Troop 2540, designed and built a new paved walkway between the church’s handicapped entrance and ramp and the statue of the Blessed Mother, located in a tranquil, reflective setting near the front entrance. Michael designed the plans and layout for the walkway, purchased the necessary materials, and arranged for Executive Lawns Inc. to supervise the project. He and several other Eagle Scouts then laid the stone pavers.

The Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council, the Dewey Beach Lions Club, the Elks Lodge and Lewes Moose Lodge provided generous support for the purchase of materials. The completed project allows parishioners and visitors a safe and peaceful walking path to the statue. The clergy, staff and parish family extended their thanks to Michael for his initiative and hard work.
