Lung association invites facilitators to Feb. 6 workshop

The American Lung Association in Delaware invites all healthcare professionals and professionals trained in asthma management to the Breathe Well, Live Well Facilitator Workshop from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday Feb. 6, at 630 Churchmans Road, Suite 202, Newark. The workshop will train qualified health professionals to be Breathe Well, Live Well certified facilitators.

Breathe Well, Live Well is an adult asthma management program from the American Lung Association. It covers what asthma sufferers need to know to take control of their asthma and reduce their symptoms.

The full-day workshop includes a thorough review of the curriculum, tips for working with adults, modeling of appropriate skills to teach adults with asthma, and how to deliver the program. By attending the workshop, participants will become certified Breathe Well, Live Well facilitators and be able to hold their own meetings in their respective communities. All participants will receive a Breathe Well, Live Well Facilitator Kit which includes a facilitator’s guide, 10 participant workbooks in English or Spanish and standardized evaluation materials.

The cost is $300, with breakfast and lunch included. This Breathe Well, Live Well Facilitator Workshop is made possible through the Delaware Division of Public Health’s Asthma Education Contract. Funding for the contract is provided by the Delaware Health Fund and managed by the American Lung Association in Delaware.
