December 27, 2012

United States Marshal Barry Boright of Lewes, left, shown with his daughter Sydney Boright, enjoyed speaking with Sydney’s seventh-grade class at Worcester Preparatory School about the work of federal marshals.

There are 94 districts of federal marshals serving the United States and its territories. The marshals in their districts are involved in virtually every federal law enforcement initiative. Their work includes conducting threat analyses and investigation; managing courthouse security; conducting domestic and international fugitive investigations; working on financial and technical surveillance; transporting prisoners; protecting witnesses; performing security, rescue and recovery activities for natural disaster and civil disturbances; and much more.
