December 27, 2012

When her 90-year-old father fell, Eileen Price knew it was time for her to take action. She decided it best that he come live with her and her husband Bob, but she soon realized full-time caregiving can be overwhelming. Luckily, she found Easter Seals In-Home Services at the perfect time in her life.

“Easter Seals came just when I needed it and was just what I was looking for,” Eileen says. “In-Home Services is an excellent program that puts customer satisfaction first.”

At the beginning of the year, Eileen retired from her job to spend as much time as possible with her husband, who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, while he could still remember their time together. With the help of In-Home Services, Eileen and her husband are still able to spend alone time together on a date once a week while a dependable Easter Seals staff member cares for her father.

“I feel 100 percent better, and I can entrust my father with someone else while I am not there. I feel at ease that he is not alone,” Eileen says. “I feel confident when I leave my house and know someone who is trustworthy is with my father.”
