SOLitude Lake Management announces Shannon Junior as Volunteer of the Year

December 27, 2012

Through its corporate volunteering program, The SOLution, SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the mid-Atlantic and surrounding states, has named Shannon Junior, aquatic ecologist, as its Volunteer of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2012 and Volunteer of the Year for 2012.

Junior's time spent volunteering in 2012 was more than 200 hours, with 42.5 hours volunteered in October and November alone. She spent many weekends at meet-and-greet adoption events at pet stores for animals from the Madison County Animal Shelter. She also spent time working one on one with animals whose confidence had been affected by previous living situations. She is very proud of the adoptions of two sweet young male pit bull mixes named Shelby and Drake, who spent several adoption events with her. Her enthusiasm and relentless efforts to find these animals their forever homes were factors in her awards. Junior’s efforts to inspire her teammates to get involved and volunteer were also a determining factor in selecting her as Volunteer of the Year. For her contribution to The SOLution through volunteering, Junior was recognized and awarded with two donations totaling more than $1,500 to the charity of her choice. She chose to give her prize of a $500 donation to a charity of her choice to the Madison Greene Humane Society.
