Members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 17 became Santa's helpers Dec. 13 as they began preparations for the annual Children's Christmas Party. Stockings were stuffed, and the wooly tree was adorned with hats and mittens for the children to take.
The Christmas party was held Dec. 15 at American Legion Post 17, with Santa and Mrs. Claus in attendance, along with their personal elf and many of Santa's helpers. The children's party included games, singing, prizes and a bountiful lunch provided compliments of the auxiliary.
The auxiliary expressed thanks for the community support in their fundraising events. Through continued support, members can provide fun and educational events throughout the year.
