Military officers support Home of Brave

January 10, 2013

The Military Officers Association of America, Southern Delaware Chapter, is a nonprofit military organization dedicated to a strong national defense and to preserving the earned entitlements of members of the uniformed services, their families and survivors.

MOAA wishes to express our gratitude to DiFebo's restaurant in Bethany Beach for the Dec. 16, 2012 Cooking for a Cause dedicated to the Home of the Brave Foundation Inc., which was established to furnish food, shelter and counseling to veterans of our Armed Forces and families without regard to sex, race, color or creed. There is a constant need of support for this special project and monetary contributions are tax deductible. Home of the Brave Foundation address is: 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963. Please contact them for any other special needs.

Special thanks are extended to several local businesses and citizens who continue their generous support of our Armed Forces personnel and veterans: Gerald Hocker, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Cottage Cafe. Thanks also to Cmdr. Carl Mantegna, USNR (ret) who donated a painting for one of the auction items and to Col. Ron Sarg, USAF (ret) for a generous contribution to this cause.

Thanks also to all the MOAA members in attendance and to the other diners that evening who truly support our veterans.

We should continue to do what we can to help our veterans in need. As citizens, we must do more to bring attention and honor to those who have served and those military still fighting to preserve our freedoms with the care of their families foremost in our mind.

Richard A. Pfeil
Captain USNR (ret)
