Valerie W. Swindal, registered nurse
Mrs. Valerie W. Swindal, 93, of Millsboro and formerly of Poway, Calif., passed away peacefully at Milford Center in Milford. Born Sept. 24, 1919, in Millsboro, she was the daughter of the late Walter B. and Anna Davies Wright.
Mrs. Wright was a Roman Catholic, a native American Nanticoke, and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Scripps Hospital. She lived for 40 years at Poway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Bernice Samuel Swindal, who died in 1964.
She is survived by two brothers: Curtis Wright, and Douglas Wright.
A viewing and visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 13, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. At 1 p.m., a graveside service will be held with Pastor Karen Mumford officiating, at Indian Mission United Methodist Church Cemetery, Harbeson. Floral tributes are welcomed by the family.
