Beebe Health - Millville expands winter hours

January 23, 2013

To meet the growing need for walk-in health care this winter, the Beebe Health Campus - Millville Walk-in Care Center has expanded its hours to seven days a week through the end of January.

The center has been open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday through Monday, for visitors and residents whose primary-care physicians are unavailable. Now it’s also open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The need for extended hours will be re-evaluated in February. Also, the healthcare providers at the walk-in can test for flu if indicated.

No appointments are necessary at the Millville Walk-in Care Center, which is located in the Creekside Plaza on Route 26, five miles west of Route 1. Also in the same shopping center are outpatient services: Beebe Imaging, Beebe Lab Express and Beebe Rehab, which offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language pathology.

The Walk-in Care Center is in the same building that previously housed a Beebe emergency center during summer seasons in past years. The Walk-in Care Center allows patients to receive non-emergency and immediate care. Illnesses and health problems that are appropriate for treatment in the center include: allergies; cough, cold, flu; upper respiratory infections; bronchitis; laryngitis; strep throat/sore throat; sinus infections; ear infections; swimmer’s ear; minor eye infections, pink eye, stye and abrasions; bladder infections; sprains and strains; minor burns, cuts and simple lacerations; incision and drainage; and simple splinting.

The telephone number at the Walk-in Care Center is 302-541-4175.

In the event of a life-threatening illness or accident, call 911. This will allow the patient to receive immediate, emergency treatment by emergency responders and to be taken to the nearest suitable hospital emergency room.

Beebe Medical Center is a not-for-profit community medical center with a charitable mission to encourage healthy living, prevent illness and restore optimal health with the people residing, working or visiting in the communities it serves. For more information, visit
