Millsboro Lions learn about Nanticoke history, customs

January 26, 2013

Sterling Street, museum coordinator for the Nanticoke Indian Museum, known by his tribal name Earth Keeper, was recently the guest speaker for the Millsboro Lions Club.

Showing pictures of the museum's contents, he said the museum is home to many Nanticoke Indian artifacts and other historical items. His narrative included tribal customs, and a glimpse into the history of the Nanticoke Indians and their heritage. He gave the audience a deeper understanding of what happened in the lives of these Native American people.

For a guided tour of the museum, call 302-945-7022. The museum is at 27073 John J. Williams Highway, Millsboro.
