The Nanticoke Rotary invites the public to meet some real-life heroes when it hosts the Nanticoke Rotary Awards: A Tribute to Paramedics on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Heritage Shores in Bridgeville.

The honorees have been recognized by their peers and supervisors as heroes, defined as men and women of distinguished courage and ability, admired for their brave deeds and noble qualities. Guest speaker will be Roy Ball, clinical nurse specialist at the Trauma Resuscitation Unit, University of Maryland Shock Trauma.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and dinner, followed by the awards banquet and tribute. Tickets for the event are $20 per person, and payment is required by Friday, Feb. 8.

Dinner menu choices include chicken cordon bleu with whole-grain mustard sauce, pork medallions with sautéed Granny Smith apples and applejack sauce, and flounder stuffed with fresh spinach and ricotta and topped with a savory cream sauce.

Nanticoke Rotary expresses appreciation to major sponsor Nanticoke Health Services for making the tribute possible. Nanticoke Rotary seeks supporting sponsors (10 tickets and recognition for $500) and table sponsors (six tickets and recognition for $200).
