Love Creek RV park a win/win proposal

February 1, 2013

I would like to reply to a letter writer who is opposed to the proposed RV resort because of traffic concerns. We already have thousands of RVs traveling through our area to the dozens of RV parks in Sussex County and the Ocean City area. No one has a problem with the current situation. One more RV park will be just a drop in the bucket.

And it will be located on Cedar Neck Road, a seldom used back road. And the amount of traffic generated will be significantly less than a comparable housing development, since this modern resort will have so many amenities that the visitors don’t need to leave their campsites as often. And a housing development will go there eventually, when the economy improves.

This project will benefit the local economy by creating jobs and bringing in tourists. All the RV parks in our area are filled to capacity. So this would allow more tourists to visit. And as opposed to a housing development, an RV resort does not add students to our already overcrowded schools. And these tourists will not use expensive social services. So it is a win/win for all of us.
