An Evening at the Hook lectures begin Feb. 14 with live birds of prey, mammals and spiders
An Evening at the Hook lecture series kicks off the 2013 season and its 10th anniversary with “Live Birds of Prey, Reptiles, Mammals & Spiders” at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14.
Hosted by staff from the Salisbury Zoo in Maryland, this presentation will allow the audience to discover the wild things that inhabit this Delmarvalous land and places abroad. Featuring a native bird of prey and reptile, a tarantula and a mammal, this presentation will offer a new appreciation for natural resources. Light refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, An Evening at the Hook series highlights this nation’s abundant and diverse natural resources, particularly close to home at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. Featured at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month in the Refuge Auditorium, these hourlong programs provide an exciting opportunity to learn intriguing facts about native plants, animals, environments and cultural history.
