East Coast Garden Center, Cordrey Center to host late winter classes and travel events

The East Coast Garden Center and Cordrey Center offers a slate of events in February and March to chase away the winter blues.

The Cordrey Center will host Love is Here to Stay, a Valentine Dinner & Cabaret Thursday, Feb. 14.  The dinner offers fireside dining, cash bar, an amazing menu and entertainment provided by Footlight Productions. Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 and entertainment to follow. Price is $40 per person or $75 per couple. Reservations are required.

"A Look Back at the Milford School Integration Crisis of 1954," presented by Ed Kee, is set for 2 p.m.,Tuesday, Feb. 26.  Light refreshments will be served. Call to register.

From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, is the center's Prom Fashion Show. Guests can preview the latest prom fashions for girls and guys and see what local vendors have to offer. Light fare. Cost is $5 per person. Call for information.

A trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show is set for Wednesday, March 6.  This year’s theme is Great Britain - Brilliant! Transportation and admission are  included in cost of $69 per person. Bus departs East Coast Garden Center 7:30 a.m. Call for reservations and information.

At 10 a.m., Thursday, March 14, Charlie Smith of T.S. Smith & Sons Farms will teach a Pruning & Trimming Class, offering great tips to energize trees.  Cost is $5.

From 6 to 8 p.m.,Thursday, March 14, Denise Clemons will present Cooking with St. Patrick, featuring Irish soda bread and other Irish specialties.  Cost is $20 per person. Call to register.

At 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, Candy Abbott will present "Soul Seeds: Fruit of our Lives." Cost is $10. Call for information and registration.

On Wednesday, March 20, take a trip to Philly’s 9th Street Italian Market.  Bring a shopping list and cooler. Bus departs East Coast Garden Center at 7:30 a.m. Call for reservations and information.

On Thursday, March 21, “Til Death do Them Part” another in the popular series of Murder Mystery Dinner Theater evenings comes to the Cordrey Center.  Cost is $40 per person, $75 per couple. Call for information or reservations.

From 3 to 6 p.m., Friday, March 22,  RSC Landscaping will host its annual Spring Customer Appreciation Open House. This free event offers landscaping information, classes on new plants and lawn care.  Guests can meet vendors, win prizes, and enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

From 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, rocket scientist Jack Clemons will present "Why Does Science Matter?” This  presentation is one that both kids and adults will enjoy. Fee TBA.  Call to register.
