Peninsula Gallery announces 2013 exhibition calendar

2013 season opens March 2 with A Stillness of Light
February 20, 2013

Peninsula Gallery at 520 E. Savannah Road in Lewes will begin its 2013 monthly exhibits Saturday, March 2, with a still life show, A Stillness of Light, featuring the work of three artists. Two of the artists are well known in the Cape Region; Victor Letonoff of Lewes and John Schisler of Georgetown. The third artist is Susan Budash of Amherst, N.Y., a gallery artist for the past several years.

B.J. Clark, now in his second year of ownership of the gallery, said, “Last year we had very successful exhibitions highlighting regional, national and international artists. I hope this year brings an even greater mix of artists and art to Lewes.”

In April, the gallery will host a juried show of watercolor work by the artists of the Delaware Watercolor Society. In May and July, the gallery will show the work of local artists in two themed shows, Nocturne and At Water’s Edge. Artists Kim Klabe and Nick Serratore will be featured in an Homage to O'Keefe in the June exhibition. The August show will feature the work of three abstract artists from Asheville, N.C.

Plein air art will be featured in September with artists Steven Hughes, Meg Walsh and Jason Tako.  British impressionist Roger Dellar will return to show new work in a one-man show in October. The year will end with the traditional Small Jewels show in December. November's show is not set yet.

In all, there will be 10 exhibitions, each lasting approximately one month, beginning with a 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. reception held generally on the first Saturday of the month. Receptions are open to the public; all are welcome.
