RAL opens Rediscovering Bertha Riley exhibit

February 22, 2013

The Rehoboth Art League held an opening titled Rediscovering Bertha Riley Feb. 16 in the Corkran Gallery. This is the first of many exhibitions and events during the Rehoboth Art League’s 75th anniversary.

Riley was a founding member of the Rehoboth Art League. Many of the paintings depict the Rehoboth area in a bygone era. The paintings were in the collection of Riley’s great-nephew Francis S. Riley and his daughters in California.

Art league member and board member Kitt McNeilly curated the show. Shown is Francis Riley discussing the painting of Bertha Riley’s niece Frances Riley with Amelia Sloan, whose aunt was a neighbor of Bertha Riley.
